Terms of Service

Closed-beta version. These terms will be reviewed by legal counsel before public launch.

Agreement

By creating a ScriptLife account or using the service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use ScriptLife.

The service

ScriptLife is a web-based service that generates AI voice performances from scripts. You paste or upload a script, the service parses it, assigns voices to characters, and produces audio you can play back in Audio Drama or Table Read mode.

All performances are generated by artificial intelligence. ScriptLife does not use recordings of real actors. ScriptLife identifies output as AI-generated, and Youth Safe playback pages include a prominent disclosure.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create a ScriptLife account. Accounts are adult-owned and adult-managed. There are no minor accounts.

Young performers may access generated audio only through adult-managed sharing set up by an adult account holder. The adult account holder is responsible for all content and sharing decisions involving young performers.

Your content

You retain ownership of scripts you upload. By submitting a script to ScriptLife, you grant us a limited licence to process, parse, and generate audio from that script as part of the service.

You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to use any script you submit. Do not upload scripts you do not have permission to use.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use ScriptLife to:

  • Generate content that impersonates a real person without their consent
  • Upload scripts that infringe copyright or other intellectual property rights
  • Circumvent Youth Safe protections, moderation gates, or access controls
  • Share Youth Safe content publicly or bypass passcode protections or other access controls
  • Use the service for harassment, abuse, or to produce content targeting individuals
  • Attempt to extract, reverse-engineer, or replicate AI voice models used by the service
  • Misrepresent AI-generated audio as a recording of real human performers

Youth Safe responsibilities

If you enable Youth Safe mode for a script, you accept additional responsibilities:

  • You are the sole adult accountable for the content and its distribution
  • You will only share Youth Safe content through the private, passcode-protected channels the service provides
  • You will not override moderation flags unless you have reviewed the flagged content and accept responsibility
  • Moderation overrides are logged with your identity and timestamp

AI-generated performance disclosure

All audio produced by ScriptLife is AI-generated. You must not present ScriptLife output as a recording of real human performers in any context where that distinction matters. If you share or distribute generated audio outside ScriptLife, you should include a clear disclosure that the performance is AI-generated.

Credits and billing

Credits are consumed only when a generation completes successfully. The trial grant covers scripts up to 30 lines. Standard credits cover up to 60 lines (1 credit) or 61 to 120 lines (2 credits). Credit costs are shown before you confirm generation.

Copyright and takedowns

If you believe content on ScriptLife infringes your copyright, see our DMCA and copyright page for the takedown process.

ScriptLife maintains a repeat-infringer policy. Accounts that repeatedly upload infringing material may be suspended or terminated.

Service availability and changes

ScriptLife is provided on an as-is basis during the closed beta. We do not guarantee uptime, data preservation, or feature availability. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features during the beta period.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ScriptLife and Urban Folklore Ltd are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. This includes but is not limited to lost data, failed generations, or interruptions to access.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product develops. Significant changes will be communicated to beta users before they take effect.
